Frozen Mango Colada
A piña colada blended with frozen mango for a thicker, fruitier, sunshine-gold frozen drink.
- 5 min prep
- 2 drinks
- Hurricane or tall glass
If you like piña coladas but want something a little less sweet and a lot more fruit-forward, add mango. It gives the drink extra body and a gorgeous golden color.
Because frozen mango replaces part of the ice, the flavor stays bold from the first sip to the last.
Frozen Mango Colada
Ingredients (2 drinks)
- 3 oz white or coconut rum
- 2 oz cream of coconut
- 3 oz pineapple juice
- ½ oz fresh lime juice
- 1½ cups frozen mango chunks
- 1½ cups ice cubes
Instructions
- Add rum, cream of coconut, pineapple juice and lime juice to the blender.
- Add the mango and the ice.
- Blend on high for 45–60 seconds until creamy.
- Pour and garnish with a mango slice or toasted coconut.
Garnish: Mango slice and toasted coconut
Glass: Hurricane or tall glass
Tips for the best texture
- Let the mango sit out for five minutes if your blender struggles with dense fruit.
- A pinch of salt makes the mango flavor pop.
Try a twist
Replace the mango with frozen banana for a banana colada.
Blender, frozen drink maker or slush machine?
These amounts are written for a standard countertop blender. In an ice-shaving frozen drink maker, put the ice in the hopper and the liquids and any fruit in the jar, then run a full cycle. In a home slush machine, which freezes the drink itself, leave out the ice, replace it with about 1 cup of cold water or juice, and pour the mixed liquid into the bowl.
