Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri
A bright, real-fruit strawberry daiquiri: frozen berries, white rum and lime blended thick. No syrupy mix.
- 5 min prep
- 2 drinks
- Hurricane or tall glass
The strawberry daiquiri is the most-requested frozen drink at just about every cookout, and it's easy to make well. Frozen strawberries bring the color and body; white rum and lime keep it crisp.
Make a double batch: the second round always goes faster than the first.
Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri
Ingredients (2 drinks)
- 3 oz white rum
- 1½ oz fresh lime juice
- 1½ oz simple syrup
- 2 cups frozen strawberries
- 1 cup ice cubes
Instructions
- Add rum, lime juice and simple syrup to the blender.
- Add frozen strawberries and ice.
- Blend on low to start, then high for 45 seconds until completely smooth.
- Pour into tall glasses and top with a strawberry slice.
Garnish: Strawberry on the rim; whipped cream optional
Glass: Hurricane or tall glass
Tips for the best texture
- Out-of-season berries are tart, so be ready to add another ½ oz syrup.
- A splash of strawberry liqueur deepens the flavor without extra sweetness.
Try a twist
Swap the white rum for coconut rum, or add ½ oz of balsamic glaze for a grown-up strawberry-balsamic twist.
Blender, frozen drink maker or slush machine?
These amounts are written for a standard countertop blender. In an ice-shaving frozen drink maker, put the ice in the hopper and the liquids and any fruit in the jar, then run a full cycle. In a home slush machine, which freezes the drink itself, leave out the ice, replace it with about 1 cup of cold water or juice, and pour the mixed liquid into the bowl.
