Frosé is just rosé wine turned into a slushie, but there's a trick: because wine doesn't freeze solid, the best frosé comes from freezing the wine itself into cubes first. That way you don't dilute the wine with ice.

Pour a bottle into ice-cube trays the night before and this recipe takes less than a minute to blend.

Frosé (Frozen Rosé)

Ingredients (2 drinks)

  • 12 oz dry rosé, frozen in ice-cube trays
  • 2 oz dry rosé, chilled (liquid)
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • ½ cup ice cubes (if needed)

Instructions

  1. Freeze rosé in ice-cube trays for at least 6 hours (it will stay a little slushy).
  2. Add the liquid rosé, lemon juice and syrup to the blender.
  3. Add the rosé cubes and strawberries.
  4. Blend on high for 30 seconds; add the ice only if it's too loose.
  5. Pour into chilled wine glasses.

Garnish: Strawberry slice or a lemon twist
Glass: Stemless wine glass

Tips for the best texture

Try a twist

Add 1 oz vodka for a stronger frosé, or use watermelon instead of strawberries.

Blender, frozen drink maker or slush machine?

These amounts are written for a standard countertop blender. In an ice-shaving frozen drink maker, put the ice in the hopper and the liquids and any fruit in the jar, then run a full cycle. In a home slush machine, which freezes the drink itself, leave out the ice, replace it with about 1 cup of cold water or juice, and pour the mixed liquid into the bowl.
